Position Summary
San Carlos Cemetery in Monterey is seeking an experienced groundskeeper to work fulltime. This is a unique opportunity to work with a s Catholic organization serving the families within our community.
We are seeking an individual who is reliable and works well in a team-based
environment. The groundskeeper reports to the Cemetery Foreman.
Specific Job Duties
Completing interments.
Installing burial vaults.
Maintaining cemetery grounds including mowing, weeding, watering and cleaning.
Operating a backhoe and ride-on lawnmower.
Operating small gas-powered tools including:
o Lawnmower
o String Trimmer
Using hand tools such as:
o Shovel,
o Maddox
o Hoe and similar tools used in landscaping
o Broom
Qualifications
Must be able to lift 75 pounds to chest level and must be able to hold 75 pounds at chest level for five minutes.
Candidate must be able to follow all safety rules and regulations.
Requires a high school diploma.
Requires work experience as a laborer, gardener, landscaper or similar work
Experience
Requires occasional driving.
Requires the ability to work at a steady pace for six to eight hours.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is strongly desired.
