A.   GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE

Employees adhere to all policies, practices, and SOP’s related to producing safe quality food (SQF). Employees have the responsibility and authority to report any problems pertaining to food safety and quality to his/her supervisor.

B.   MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION

·       Inspect raw vegetables according to specifications and based on trimming and processing applications

·       Carry boxes of raw product of over 35 lbs.

·       Moving conveyors and cutters using buddy system

·       Operate bin dumper to feed lines with product

·       Manually feeding raw product by shoveling onto moving conveyors

·       Pay close attention, remain alert to foreign objects and contaminants that may be in the product.

·       Keep floors and machines clear of debris and excess water

·       Move from one assigned area to another throughout the day as assigned.

·       Comply with Food Safety Requirements and GMPs as applicable to this position.

·       Comply with other duties as assigned by Lead or Supervisor

·       Previous food manufacturing experience is preferred.

H.     PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Work is performed in a cold environment with an average temperature of 34 degrees F. Concentrated chlorine and concealed ammonia is present.  Work surfaces and floors may be wet.  Employees are required to wear approved shoes and protective equipment.  Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted, and 6 lbs. overhead as job demands.  Constant standing on a concrete floor, reaching, bending, stooping, and repetitive hand movements may be required.  Moving machinery, including conveyor and forklifts are in operation in the immediate area.
