We are seeking to fill a Payroll Specialist position to conduct payroll functions and ensure accuracy of financial and human resource records, prepare employee payroll checks and generate year-end reports and tax forms. The ideal candidate for this position will be self-motivated, detail-oriented and able to problem solve efficiently. This is a great opportunity for an individual who wants to work in a fast-paced, high-energy office environment.

Responsibilities:

• Use a computer to perform tasks.

• Use a telephone or system to communicate with customers, clients or other employees.

• Help people across the organization understand and use payroll information.

• Enter payroll and employment information into the system.

• Calculate payroll taxes and benefits amounts and help ensure they are properly processed.

• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive corporate information.

• Review new hire packets and input into payroll system

• Process payroll

• Process garnishment orders

• Process final checks as needed

• Respond to EDD notices

• Track various leaves of absence and time off

• Respond to employee questions and process employment verification requests.

• Pull data as required for worker’s compensation and other inquiries

• Maintain the digital payroll and HR records

• Must be good with technology, both software, and hardware Job

Qualifications:

• Prior payroll experience

• Must have basic knowledge of California Labor Laws

• Must have the ability to create and maintain Excel spreadsheets

• Experience with Word, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat

• Beneficial to have worked with DataTech and PET-Tiger

• Bilingual English/Spanish

Job Type:

Full-time Pay:

$20.00 – $27.00 per hour

• Monday to Friday

• Overtime

Supplemental pay types:

• Soledad, CA 93960: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
