Alternative Housing Site Worker Program

Would you like to make an impact in someone’s life? The County of Monterey is currently recruiting staff to work at Alternative Housing Sites (AHS) that temporarily house COVID-19 positive and COVID-19 exposed residents who do not have a place to safely isolate during their designated isolation period.

Program Overview

The County of Monterey Emergency Operations Center operates Alternative Housing Sites (AHS) to temporarily house COVID-19 positive and COVID-19 exposed residents who do not have a place to safely isolate during their designated isolation period. The County is currently recruiting staff to work at the AHS locations throughout the County.

The job will include duties such as guest services, distributing food, assisting with registration and facilitating maintenance. Those selected for the AHS Program will need to meet the eligibility requirements for the WDB’s WIOA Adult/Dislocated Worker or Youth programs and will be provided training as well as fit testing for proper and safe fitting of personal protective equipment (PPE) including how to fit and wear an N95 mask and the proper donning and doffing techniques.

AHS are a safe place to work as there have been zero (0) transmissions between AHS guests and the assigned staff due to the extraordinary safety precautions and protocols in place. The program may be a unique opportunity to serve your community in need and an overall personally rewarding experience.
