The Project REACH—Responsive Educators and Advocates Committed to Mental Health takes a comprehensive approach to achieving three overarching Goals: Increase the number of high-quality, fully-credentialed school psychologists and school social workers who effectively address the mental health needs of children, including English Language Learners (ELL) and Migrant Youth, Improve the quality and capacity of the preparation of diverse, highly qualified fully credential school psychologists and school social workers by providing interdisciplinary, evidenced based, and mentored opportunities, and Implement, in collaboration with partner districts and the Monterey County Office of Education, an innovative partnership to train prospective and in-service school psychologists and other mental health professionals that includes individualized high-quality mentoring, structured observations, instructional rounds, and continuous, sustained, and practice-based professional development inclusive of the reform elements.
Under the general supervision of the REACH Project Director (PD), the Project Coordinator will facilitate and coordinate key project activities.
Examples of Duties
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include. but are not limited to. the following:
• Along with the Project Director (PD), manage all project research and reform efforts.
• Assist PD in establishing district leads, maintaining relationships.
• Assist PD/Interdisciplinary Program Coordinator (IPC) in developing outreach materials, plan outreach activities, and identify K-12 and university personnel to inform prospective School Psychology (SPSY) and School of Social Work (SSW) of the various pathways leading to a credential
• Provide ongoing support to interested candidates navigating the application process.
• Convene review team to assist with the development and integration of new content and course updates
• Finalize Student Mentors job description and publish for recruitment
• Support in identifying joint placements of SPSY and SSW students
• Assist PD in establishing data collecting/tracking procedures and confirm baselines
• Support the PD with the budgets, Annual Performance Report and work with the Sponsored Programs Office on an annual basis allotted to administrative duties.
• Improve credential coursework to strengthen candidate capacity to provide mental health supports in schools
• Purchase instructional equipment and supplies
• Assist with the summative evaluation of all project development conducted to inform CSUMB administration and management.
• Set up/organize Bi-weekly project leadership team meetings to continuously track progress and make improvements
• Assist PD with monthly project reports by PD to leadership team
• Collaborate across functions of CSUMB that intersect with project and affect student outcomes
• Collaboration between CSUMB and District leads to develop joint training and professional development to plan and develop all pre-service and in-service learning and fully align learning outcomes and expectations. Provide logistical support in PD requests.
• Assist with logistical support in providing ongoing professional development for faculty, district teams, and project staff.
• Assist PD in tracking student progress and maintain ongoing, personalized contacts and support
• Set up contracts with evaluators and Monterey County Behavioral Health.
• Assist with the planning and execution of Annual Regional Network Summit (planning meetings, spaces, contracts, purchasing)
• Process scholarship and stipends payments.
• Assist with administrative duties for the Clinic for Educational Supports
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Attend relevant workshops and conferences.
• Travel between CSUMB and local school districts and county offices of education.
PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT

Typical office environment with standard equipment and tasks. Position is required to work at a computer/video display terminal and desk for extended periods of time. Travel required between campus offices and off-campus locations. This position also requires sitting, standing, bending, pushing, talking and using manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination. Ability to lift 5-10 lbs.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Working knowledge of the practices, procedures and activities of College programs, general knowledge of the methods and approaches to organizational and program management, and public relations. General knowledge of student outreach, support and counseling, research and interview techniques, and of the principles of individual and group behavior.
Ability to interpret and apply program rules and regulations; use initiative and resourcefulness in planning work assignments and in implementing long-range program improvements; obtain factual and interpretive information through interviews; reason logically, collect, compile, analyze and evaluate data and make verbal or written presentations based on these data; advise students individually and in groups on routine matters multicultural, multi-sexed and multi aged value systems and work accordingly; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with faculty, CSU administrators, student organizations, private and public agencies and others in committee work, and student advising and community contacts; and, rapidly acquire a general knowledge of the overall operation, functions and programs of the campus to which assigned. Demonstrated ability to make decisions and carry through actions having implications with regard to other program or service areas Services Office.
Experience: Possession of these knowledge and abilities is typically demonstrated through the equivalent of two years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas or in a related field; experience should give evidence of competence and indicate the potential for further growth. A master’s degree in a job-related field may be substituted for one year of professional experience.
Education: Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration or a job-related field. Additional specialized experience during which the applicant has acquired and successfully applied the knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
• Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the CSUMB Vision Statement and the core values of mutual respect, collaboration and service orientation, multiculturalism and diversity, community service and institutional excellence.
• Second language fluency – English Spanish. Technical fluency with Microsoft Office Professional Suite; Oracle-PeopleSoft/CMS baseline information system; Access; Hyperion (Brio); TMA, or similar maintenance management system; and Google mail and calendaring programs.

The annual salary for this position is $64,480. Classification: Grade 5, Staff. Grade range: $43,466 – $65,198. This is an exempt position and as such is not eligible for the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
