Job Summary:
The Administrative Assistant performs a wide variety of clerical and administrative tasks in support of the Panetta Institute for Public Policy and its programs. This is a full-time position with schedule flexibility and periodic overtime based on programmatic needs. Presently, this position requires performance of job duties at the worksite and is not a remote job.
Job description and Qualifications:
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail;
- dedication to high-quality work on all tasks and projects;
- ability to follow instruction and work within established systems;
- demonstrate initiative in performing assigned tasks, top-notch writing, editing and verbal communication skills;
- proficient in MS Office.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Required experience:
- administrative support for event planning and coordination;
- professional phone manner;
- ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
Primary duties:
- assist in program implementation;
- communicating with outside partners;
- responsible for organizing meetings/events;
- working with multiple electronic and hard copy files;
- drafting correspondence and other products;
- retrieving and compiling complex information;
- working cooperatively and respectfully with co-workers, partners, and the public.
Physical requirements:
- repetitive movement, prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer, using telephones and electronic mail;
- participating in face-to-face meetings and discussions with individuals and teams, standing;
- walking; reaching with hands and arms; stooping or kneeling; and regularly lifting and/or moving up to 15 pounds and occasionally lifting/or moving up to 25 pounds.
