Salud Para La Gente (SALUD) provides high quality, comprehensive and cost-effective medical, dental, behavioral health, optometry and other services to underserved, low-income communities in the Monterey Bay area, including Santa Cruz and Monterey Counties. SALUD began in Watsonville in 1978 as a storefront free clinic, and is now a Federally Qualified Health Center. With 4 health center sites, school-based health centers and over 400 employees, we provide high quality services to patients of all ages.
The Clinic Greeter helps ensure that all people entering Salud clinics are safe to do so during the COVID-19 public health emergency. This position also supports staff and patients for outdoor services, including Respiratory Clinic and Curbside services. This position will work outdoors and will work closely with outdoor services staff, security, front office team, and clinic operations to ensure patients access their clinic services safely and efficiently during the COVID-19 public health emergency.
Screen all patients, employees, and others entering Salud facilities for COVID symptoms, including temperature, and other risk factors
Operate temperature taking device. Record and retake temperatures as indicated
Ensure all patients follow Salud’s visitor protocols
Set up and take down outdoor services equipment, supplies, furniture, and other relevant items
Support efficient and safe patient and vehicular traffic flow for outdoor services; assist and direct arriving patients to appropriate service locations
Perform basic navigation of Salud’s practice management system to confirm patient appointment status details, check-in patient, and/or other necessary duties
Follow Salud protocols in case of unforeseen events to support the safety of patients and employees.
Communicates effectively and respectfully with people from different racial, ethnic and cultural backgrounds and lifestyles.
Respects and maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
Consistently adheres to and/or exceed Salud’s communication guidelines and expectations with internal and external customers including co-workers, patients, and external partners
Communicate effectively by using welcoming words, proper tone of voice, appropriate body language, eye contact and smiling in all interactions. Listen skillfully and display a willingness and ability to acknowledge patient and co-workers’ needs, expectations and values through the use of reflective listening and empathy conveyance. Respond to co-worker and patient needs in ways that are helpful and beyond expectation

Customer service experience
Experience with computer entry
High School Diploma or equivalent
Valid CA driver’s license and current vehicle insurance
Must be bilingual in English/Spanish
Ability to maintain strict patient confidentiality
Ability to communicate sensitively, effectively and respectfully with people from different cultures and lifestyles
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the public
Knowledge and understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPPA rules
Standing for multiple hours at a time, walking, sitting, typing, reaching, moving and/or lifting up to 25 pounds.
Withstand being outdoors in variable and/or inclement weather for multiple hours at a time
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
Salary Range: $15.25 to $18.54 per hour
Time Off Benefits: CA Sick Pay and Holiday Pay, prorated per hours worked

We began in Watsonville, CA, in 1978 as a storefront “free clinic”, and became a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in 1992. Today we are a primary health care network with 12 clinic sites and continue to provide high quality services to patients of all ages.
