Under the direction of the Operations Manager, performs major mechanical inspections, repairs and maintenance
servicing of all Authority-owned trucks & trailers, landfill and construction equipment, and maintenance equipment and tools; performs related work as required;
Diagnoses problems and repairs a variety of Authority equipment, including light motor vehicles, motor graders, packers, and landfill equipment;
Performs services and basic repairs on diesel heavy equipment such as bulldozers, compactors, excavators and loaders; Overhauls and/or rebuilds gasoline, diesel, and internal-combustion engines, transmissions, ignition systems, steering systems, and other related systems;
Maintain accurate records of maintenance on all machinery, equipment and service records. Must provide their own tools to perform required repairs.
• A valid class “C” California driver’s license
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required; equivalent combination of experience may
substitute for education requirement.
• Five (5) years of experience as equipment mechanic technician in a similar environment requiring similar skills as
required by the equipment maintenance tech specifications.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish is desirable.

Equipment Maintenance Tech I: Hourly Salary: $28.705 – $36.566 (in eleven steps) – (effective July 1, 21)
Equipment Maintenance Tech II: Hourly Salary: $31.686 – $40.362 (in eleven steps) – (effective July 1, 21)
