Responsibilities include:
Direct Service Trainer – provide Independent Living Skills to adults with developmental disabilities. Provide a learning environment in which adults function more independently in their home, within their communities, or at work sites.
Duties of the Direct Service Trainer include but are not limited to:
-Teach and assist clients toward achieving a maximum level of independence.
-Promote community integration, safety, and effective problem solving.
-Document client events and progress, follow up on Direct Service Plan prepared by Case Managers.
-Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications Required:
-Must be 18 years of age or older with a minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent
-One year of college and experience working with adults with developmental disabilities preferred, but training is also available and provided.
Other Requirements:
-Completion of First Aid and CPR certification within 60 days of hire.
-Criminal Record Clearance: must obtain and maintain Department of Justice/FBI fingerprint clearance.
-Reliable means of transportation and Class C Drivers license and minimum insurance required by the State of California.
-Bilingual is a plus but not required.
-American Sign Language is a plus but not required.
