Job Title:                      Floor Technician

Position Summary:
The purpose of this position is to provide guidance, direction, and insight to the growing staff, oriented toward the hands-on aspects of growing.  Through experience and training, the individual could eventually direct any or all aspects of the growing process.  The schedule varies depending upon the needs of the department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Consistently deliver high-quality mushroom crops
Monitor disease control crew
Obtain a pesticide applicators license
Supervise hourly employees
Monitor, maintain, and improve cost efficiencies
Ensure compliance with company safety policies, GMPs, Food Safety, and sanitation policies
Maintain monthly pesticide and food safety documentation
I Will also learn Harvesting operations

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in weekly reports in the functional work area
Is responsible for reviewing performance and administers corrective action.
Plans the work schedules, assigns duties, tracks absenteeism and reviews work to ensure quality standards.
Responsible for monitoring work for legal or regulatory compliance.
Observes and practices safety and housekeeping procedures at all times. Attends and/or conducts Safety Meetings.

Supervisory Responsibility:
Direct Reports: General Laborers, Irrigators, Sanitation crew, Harvesters
Responsible for training direct reports.
Is responsible for reviewing performance and administers corrective action.
Plans the work schedules, assigns duties, tracks absenteeism and reviews work to ensure quality standards.
Responsible for monitoring work for legal or regulatory compliance.
Observes and practices safety and housekeeping procedures at all times.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Minimum of 1-3 years of experience supervising (familiarity with safety guidelines, best food handling practices, customer expectations, and knowledge of the different packing areas: receiving, packing, shipping)
Possess effective written and verbal communication skills for interaction with the crew, peers, and management
Knowledge of relevant software applications: spreadsheets, word, and database management
Ability to comprehend and apply basic mathematical principles to the degree required to perform the job based upon job requirements

Education and Work Experience:
Required:
High School diploma or equivalent
Ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management
Bilingual/bi-literate in English and Spanish

Desired:
Experience supervising in the food industry.
