Job Description:
We are looking for a Direct Support Professional to join our team to assist individuals with disabilities to learn, grow and become more independent. If you enjoy interacting with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and being a part of their circle of support we’d like to meet with you.
Direct Support Professional responsibilities include exhibiting compassion while ensuring that the supported individual is healthy and safe. Foster independence and personal choice by guiding individuals in acquiring necessary skills, such as interpersonal competence so individuals have greater self-reliance in their day-to-day lives
Responsibilities:
• Assist individuals with disabilities with their daily living activities
• Assist with medication(s) according to guidelines
• Aid in implementing support plans
• Encourage community participation
• Document all observations and daily progress notes
• Communicate effectively with team members
• Assist individuals in performing their household responsibilities
• Transport and accompany individuals to appointments, Community activities, and shopping
Qualifications:
Must be 18 years old
• Ability to support people through person center approach to ensure a meaningful life within the consumer’s community and home environment.
• Must have High School Diploma or GED
• Must have 1-year experience supporting people with developmental disabilities
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bilingual an asset.
• Ability to use payroll software application
• Ability to Electronic Case Management software
Language: English, Spanish, Korean
