​Overview

Nestled in the heart of Steinbeck country, the Monterey Area CHP is the primary agency responsible for traffic law enforcement in the unincorporated areas of Monterey County in addition to all freeways.  Monterey County, bordering the Pacific Ocean, is geographically and economically diverse with the two leading industries being tourism and agriculture. The area is primarily unincorporated however, there are two main population centers, the city of Salinas and seven Monterey Peninsula cities.   The Monterey Area CHP offers a number of traffic safety programs aimed at keeping you and your loved ones safe on the road and on the highways.  Contact our office for information on how to safely buckle kids in their safety seats, teach new drivers the challenges of the road, and learn some tips on how to avoid collisions, safe driving habits, and consequences of a poor choice behind the wheel of a vehicle.

Salary: 

$4,628 – $6,373 per month

Description:

Dispatch centers are staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Dispatchers can sign up for shifts and days off based on seniority.  Dispatchers are eligible for medical, dental, and vision for themselves and their dependents.  Great retirement with CalPERS earning 2.0% at 57 years of age.  401K and 457 deferred compensation plans are available.  Lifetime medical available.  Visit CHPBETHEVOICE.com for more information
