Job Seeker Services
Employers are interested in finding the right person with the right attitude and skills. Our staff at our America’s Job Center of California can help with career planning, assessments, training, and re-entry into the workforce. We have workshops, training programs, resume tools, and more – all at no cost – to help you with your job search effort. We are here to help you become job ready and develop the skills you need.
Adult
We help provide adults 18 and over with workforce job readiness tools. These include career services, skills testing, pre-vocational training, and job placement assistance. You have the opportunity to increase occupation skills or obtain an industry recognized credential to secure an in-demand job in Monterey County.
Dislocated Worker (Displaced Worker)
There are special programs for workers who have been terminated, laid off, or received a “notice of termination or layoff” because of a permanent plant closing, a substantial layoff, foreign competition, and/or a lack of demand for their skills are eligible.
Self-employed workers who are out of work because of downturn in the economy or a natural disaster may also be eligible, as well as manual labors including agriculture, farming, ranching, or displaced homemakers.
Youth
Our Youth Employment Program provides high-quality services for out-of-school young adults, between the ages of 18- 24, who are interested in exploring a career while receiving guidance, support, and encouragement for educational achievements. Skills training opportunities are available for in-demand industry occupations, such as Culinary Arts.
Our Youth Employment Program’s mission is to empower young adults with tools and resources to help them succeed with career pathway and in-demand jobs in Monterey County.
